The second meeting of the Council Working Party on Statistics under the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union was held in Brussels on Tuesday, 25 March.
The Presidency presented the latest developments in the interinstitutional negotiations on the proposal for a regulation on European Statistics on Population and Housing (ESOP) and invited the Member States to share their views. The delegations provided the valuable contributions which enriched the in-depth discussion on to the way forward in relation to this dossier.
Under the second agenda item, the European Commission presented its newly published proposal for a regulation on non-financial statistics concerning commercial real estate (CREI). Due to the short time since publication of the proposal, a detailed discussion of the document is planned to start at the next CWPS.
To conclude, the Presidency shared brief updates on other statistical files currently under discussion.
