The first meeting of the Council Working Party on Statistics under the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union took place in Brussels on Thursday 20 February. The meeting was chaired by Ms Barbara Jarosińska.

The meeting began with presenting an overview of the priorities of the Polish Presidency.

Then the state of play of the interinstitutional negotiations on the Proposal for a Regulation on European Statistics on Population and Housing (ESOP) was presented which was followed by an exchange of views on the key elements of the dossier.

Finally, the Presidency reported on the progress of other ongoing statistical dossiers.
